FAO in Vienna invites applications for a Young Professional Officer (Programme Support) to assist and support the development, implementation and monitoring of projects within the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre. Role involves coordination of events, preparation of communications, budget proposals and knowledge management, with emphasis on partnership development and outreach at an international level.
Fluency in English and knowledge of another FAO language are required.

The Joint FAO/IAEA Centre of Nuclear Techniques in Food and Agriculture (CJN) assists Members of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in using nuclear techniques and related technologies to improve food security, alleviate poverty and promote sustainable agriculture. The Joint FAO/IAEA Centre consists of five Sections, each with an associated laboratory (located in Seibersdorf, 45 km south-east of Vienna). The work of the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre covers animal production and health; plant breeding and genetics; insect pest control; soil and water management and crop nutrition; and food safety and control.
The position is located in the Director's office of the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre of Nuclear Techniques in Food and Agriculture (CJN), in Vienna, Austria.
The Young Professional Officer (Programme Support) reports to the Director of the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre of Nuclear Techniques in Food and Agriculture (CJN) in Vienna, Austria.
The Young Professional Officer (Programme Support) assists and supports the development, implementation and monitoring of assigned projects, partnership development, and outreach efforts. This includes support of the implementation of operational and financial activities, preparation of communication and outreach materials, coordination of events, and knowledge management. The Young Professional Officer also provides support to day-to-day operational activities, including the management of documentation, tracking of budget proposals, data analysis and streamlining of administrative processes.
Research, technical analysis and project related services to support the delivery of assigned projects, products and services.
