Offer Description
  • Representing the Screenwriting department in the development of the arts
  • Comprehensive teaching activities in individual and group lessons, in the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs (Screenwriting), but also in an interdisciplinary context
  • Supervising students’ artistic projects (bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in Screenwriting)
  • Examination duties (admission and final exams)
  • Supervision of theoretical scientific final theses (bachelor’s and master’s theses in Screenwriting)
  • Implementation of or collaboration on interdisciplinary (research) projects in the field of film and media
  • Willingness to collaborate on organizational, administrative, and evaluation tasks, as well as in university commissions and committees

Minimum salary According to the Austrian collective agreement, the monthly gross pay is a minimum of €6.604,30 (14 times/year). A possible higher salary, depending on qualification and previous experience, is subject to negotiation.

Specific Requirements

  • Several years of experience as a writer in the feature film sector for both TV/streaming services and cinema productions, demonstrated by realized screenplays
  • Experience in collaborative work, as a co-writer or dramatic advisor in team-based story development
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current debates and discourses on fictional, hybrid, and non-fictional (cinematic) storytelling
  • Interdisciplinary cultural knowledge (film studies, literature, theater, art, psychology)
  • Familiarity with Austrian cinema
  • Leadership qualities in organizational matters
  • Willingness to work and collaborate across disciplines
  • Explicit commitment to teaching and education
  • Competence in the areas of gender, inclusion, diversity, and sustainability
  • Proof of knowledge of the German language
  • Gender and diversity competence
