The Institute of Financial Mathematics and Applied Number Theory at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for a permanent professorship position under private law for a
Professor for High Dimensional Simulation
to begin immediately. The appointment is in accordance with § 98 of the Austrian Universities Act. An evaluation will be conducted after a five-year period.
We are seeking a candidate with an outstanding track record in research and teaching in the field of high-dimensional simulation (e.g., Monte Carlo and quasi-Monte Carlo methods, applied number theory, pseudo-random number generation, high-dimensional integration, high-dimensional approximation and optimization, as well as solution methods for problems arising in applications such as financial and insurance mathematics or game theory). In addition, a connection to applications in the natural, life, and technical sciences is expected.
The successful candidate is expected to represent and further develop the field of High Dimensional Simulation in research and teaching. Applicants for the position must have a venia docendi (habilitation degree) or a comparable post-doctorate qualification in the academic field. A salary above the minimum amount (which is currently 92.460,20 € before taxes) as stated in the collective agreement will be voluntarily offered.
