Zusammenfassung

Your Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated PhD student to join the Institute of Mechanics. Our research focuses on the analysis of dynamical effects in various applications, ranging from train dynamics to biomechanics. Our work centers on multibody systems, with a particular emphasis on the understanding of nonlinear effects and variability.

As part of this role, you will contribute to research activities in these areas, with the expectation of completing a PhD thesis. In addition to research, you will assist in teaching responsibilities for courses in Statics, Dynamics, Multibody Dynamics, and Structural Dynamics.

The position also includes administrative tasks related to teaching and research activities.

Your Profile

Programming experience in a higher-level programming language, such as Python or Matlab, is required for this position. Experience with experimental investigations of vibrating structures and with teaching in the field of engineering mechanics are advantageous. We are looking for a team player with a proactive and collaborative mindset.

Admission Requirements

A completed Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required for this position. Solid knowledge of mechanics and very good German language skills are essential.

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52,865.40 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.

Organisational Unit

The Institute of Mechanics belongs to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Economic Sciences. In teaching, the team members are mainly involved in basic training for engineering mechanics in mechanical, industrial, digital and biomedical engineering courses of study. In addition to the basic training, specialization lectures for advanced modelling and simulation techniques of mechanical systems are offered for students in computational engineering. Our research addresses questions related to mechanical vibrations, rotor dynamics and sensitivity analysis. Applications are found in various machines, vehicle dynamics and bio‑mechanics.
