Zusammenfassung

Job Description: Role Overview As Tender & Contracting Specialist Surgery Austria, you will play a critical role in driving commercial excellence and supporting the sustainable growth of the Surgery business in Austria. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of public tenders, commercial offers, pricing processes, contract governance and profitability analyses across public and private healthcare customers. Working in close partnership with Country Management and the MSM Commercial Operations organization, you will ensure full alignment with global and regional pricing guidelines while supporting sound commercial decision-making and business growth. Acting as the central point of contact for tender, pricing and contracting topics, you will collaborate closely with Sales, Finance, Marketing, Customer Service, Logistics, Legal & Compliance and local leadership teams to deliver compliant, competitive and high-quality customer solutions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complex processes, working accurately under deadlines and translating tender requirements, commercial data and business strategy into successful customer offers and sustainable commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tender Management Manage the full lifecycle of public tender processes in Austria, from identification, initial review and requirement analysis through stakeholder coordination, submission and award follow-up. Carefully analyse tender documents, extract relevant requirements and translate them into a structured internal action plan to ensure complete, accurate and timely submissions. Coordinate all relevant internal contributors, including Sales, Product Management, Pricing, Logistics, Finance, Legal/Compliance and Commercial Operations, to collect, validate and consolidate input into a high-quality offer. Ensure compliance with Austrian public procurement requirements, internal approval frameworks and company standards. Monitor the tender landscape and generate actionable insights on customer requirements, competitive positioning and market opportunities. Recommend improvements to tender, bidding and offer processes to increase efficiency, transparency and control.
  • Contract Management & Governance Govern and manage contracts with both public and private accounts, ensuring adherence to agreed terms, conditions and internal standards. Monitor contract performance, flag deviations, and lead corrective actions where necessary Support regular business reviews with relevant internal and external stakeholders to assess contract execution and strengthen partnerships. Proactively identify renegotiation opportunities and commercial risks across the portfolio.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Serve as a reliable internal reference point for tender, pricing, offer and contract-related questions within Surgery Austria. Build bridges between customers, Sales teams and internal functions to ensure smooth communication, clear ownership and timely execution. Generate and communicate business insights that support commercial decision-making. Collaborate closely with Cluster and Mid-Size Markets Commercial Operations teams to ensure alignment on methodology, tools and reporting standards. Support pricing data integrity, contract documentation, SOX readiness and audit compliance. Coach and support Sales teams on tendering, commercial offer excellence and process discipline. Act as backup and close collaborator for the Austrian Commercial Operations team member.
Qualifications & Experience

Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or a related field; equivalent relevant working experience may also be considered. Ideally 1–3 years of experience in pricing, tendering, contracting, commercial operations, commercial finance or a comparable administrative/project-oriented role, preferably in MedTech, healthcare or a hospital/public procurement environment. Understanding of public tender processes in Austria or strong willingness to develop expertise in this area. Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data, dashboards, financial models and commercial analyses. Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and the ability to translate complex information into clear recommendations. Experience in project management, structured process work and coordination across multiple stakeholders. Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clearly, align stakeholders and engage confidently across functions. Fluent German and English.
