• Own BOM setup and release documentation.
• Prepare engineering deliverables (FMEA, specs, risk analyses).

The impact you’ll make

As a Systems Engineer at Lam, you'll design complex frameworks, systems, or products for our wafer fabrication equipment. You will define system specifications, requirements, parameters, and compatibility to integrate hardware, software, and firmware into a cohesive system. Identifying, analyzing, and resolving system design weaknesses combined with your multi‑layered technical expertise you help shape the next generation of Lam initiatives.

What you’ll do

• Lead the development program (product), ensuring mechanical, electrical hardware and tool software meet the system specification
• Own the development of the system specification based on the product specification and configuration options
• Be accountable for resolving design tradeoffs/conflicts to ensure integration and performance as described in the system specification
• Assure that the system meets engineering‑ and compliance standards, especially during concept and detailed design phases
• Own the BOM (bill of material) setup and execution of the documentation release plan
• Prepare all required program/product related Engineering deliverables (e.g., FMEA, technical specifications, risk analyses)
• Be technically responsible for all interfaces across the entire product, ensuring they are well defined and working
• Participate in the cost allocation model and ensure designs meet cost targets
• Own the reliability allocation model, reliability design approach and test plans

Who we’re looking for

• Master or PhD in one of the following areas:
  • System Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
• Mechatronic / Automation Engineering
• Experience of at least 7 years in Engineering
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office
• Professional presentation skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Demonstrates high flexibility, significant technical independence, a structured working style and high working accuracy in a dynamic environment with competing priorities
• Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and react to shifting priorities to meet business needs and deadlines
• Excellent social skills with ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams (e.g., customers, internal and external partners)
• Strong analytical skills and ability to lead and influence cross‑functional teams

What We're Offering

This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry in the occupation group F. A higher payment is negotiable depending on education, expertise and skills. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year.
