The Role
Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator to join our People & Culture team based in Brisbane.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategies aligned with company goals and project requirements.
- Manage engagement activities such as community consultations, events, site visits, and forums to promote trust and collaboration.
- Coordinate with project teams (Construction, procurement, finance) to integrate stakeholder engagement into project delivery.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with diverse stakeholders including local communities, First Nations groups, government bodies, industry partners.
- Identify stakeholder risks and opportunities, monitor issues, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Oversee the management of stakeholder databases and communication channels.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting on stakeholder engagement activities and outcomes to senior management.
- Support crisis communication and media relations regarding stakeholder concerns when needed.
- Define the strategy and coordinate the implementation of initiatives to deliver social and economic benefits to local and Indigenous communities as required by each project.
- Monitor and report on participation metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of these initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Environmental Science, Social Sciences, or related field.
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, preferably within the renewable energy, infrastructure, or environmental sectors.
- Strong understanding of community engagement principles, frameworks, and best practices particularly in renewable energy projects.
- Experience engaging with Indigenous communities and knowledge of cultural heritage and related protocols is highly desirable.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and navigate complex political, social, and cultural environments.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans and deliver them effectively.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
