In this newly created and critical role, you will shape and embed a culture that balances customer needs with credit and compliance requirements. You will lead the ongoing development of Digital Lending Application capability across Lending Assessment, building collective expertise and elevating service quality and customer focus.
This will include:
Leading coaching and capability uplift across Lending Assessment to enhance customer experience and credit quality.
Driving alignment with People First Bank’s strategic direction, ensuring a strong risk culture and operational efficiency.
Providing expert credit, risk and compliance guidance to internal stakeholders, projects and leadership groups.
Improving service standards by enhancing team capability, reviewing performance and reducing turnaround times.
Ensuring effective implementation and monitoring of end-to-end lending processes.
Build team expertise through knowledge-sharing, mentoring and proactive risk-mitigation practices.
Champion continuous improvement, operational efficiency and strong risk management across systems, processes and behaviours.
Lead a high-performing coaching team, role-model leadership excellence and ensure a safe, accountable and values-aligned work environment.
You bring substantial professional experience within financial services and are recognised for your strategic mindset, strong stakeholder engagement and ability to influence outcomes in complex, fast-paced environments. Highly adaptive and a quick learner, you communicate complex concepts with clarity and work collaboratively to shape direction, drive improvement and support sound credit decision-making.
Additionally, we seek:
Senior Delegated Lending Authority experience across complex, high-value credit applications
Deep knowledge of regulatory and prudential standards for credit assessment
Advanced credit risk assessment and decisioning capability
Strong analytical and commercial acumen to interpret complex financial information
Ability to design, enhance and apply credit policies, processes and frameworks
If successful, you will be required to obtain and maintain “Responsible Person” status under People First Bank’s Fit and Proper Policy.
