Imagine The Future Consulting Ltd is seeking a Senior Authorised Person to join a dynamic data center focused project team. The role centers on safe operation and control of high/medium/low voltage systems during construction, commissioning, energisation, testing and handover.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in Electrical/Mechanical/Controls, a proactive problem-solving mindset and experience in commissioning within mission-critical environments.

Aufgaben

• Act as Senior Authorised Person in accordance with COHE Safety Rules and SSOW.
• Maintain operational control of HV/MV/LV electrical systems including switching and energisation.
• Prepare, review and execute Switching Schedules ensuring safe operations.
• Manage LOTO arrangements including safety isolations and locks.
• Issue, receive, manage and cancel Safety Documents (Permits to Work, etc.).
• Coordinate pre-energisation readiness and controlled energisation before power-on.
• Provide operational support to commissioning and testing activities (IST, functional testing).
• Supervise and provide direction to Authorised Persons and Competent Persons.
• Conduct audits of operational, LOTO, isolation and Safety Documents with corrective actions.
• Interface with Lead SAP, Client, General Contractor, Commissioning Teams and Vendors to coordinate operations and energisation.
• Produce and maintain Switching Schedules/Programmes and Energisation Plans.
• Maintain project electrical operational boundary and LOTO/Isolation Registers.
• Maintain Safety Document Registers and electrical Safety activity records.

Senior Authorised Person - Job Description

Imagine The Future Consulting Ltd (ITF) was started by Mark Sathyaseelan, established in 2007; is a fast growing, dynamic and developing commissioning engineering consultancy. The last 4 years have seen exponential growth and we are now looking at building on the experiences and success we have had. We still consider ourselves as a start-up and have a start-up philosophy currently.

We work in the Data Center industry and offer commissioning services to our clients across EMEA. These include programmatic commissioning design development to physical execution as the client commissioning agents (currently operating in at least 5 countries across EMEA). We often are involved with trouble shooting existing projects and we have a number of blue chip clients.

We have developed our own in house planning software for large construction projects which can be used for both Construction and Commissioning.

The role requires a strong technical background - Mechanical, Electrical or Controls as part of an integrated team. The ideal candidate will need to support other team members as part of the project delivery model.

Main Responsibility Overview (but not limited to):

The ITF SAP will form part of the project electrical operational team and will be responsible for the safe operational control of HV/MV/LV systems throughout construction, commissioning, energisation, testing and handover. The role requires strong technical knowledge, safety leadership and the ability to coordinate complex electrical operations within a mission-critical data centre environment

• Act as Senior Authorised Person in accordance with the ITF Control of Hazardous Energy (COHE) Safety Rules and Safe System of Work (SSOW).


• Maintain operational control of HV/MV/LV electrical systems, including switching, isolation, energisation, de-energisation and return-to-service activities.


• Prepare, review and execute Switching Schedules, ensuring all switching operations are completed safely and in accordance with approved procedures.


• Manage and control LOTO arrangements, including safety isolations, lock boxes, operational locks, loan locks and system boundaries.


• Issue, receive, manage and cancel applicable Safety Documents, including HV/LV Permits to Work, Limitations of Access and Sanctions for Test, within individual authorisation limits.


• Coordinate pre-energisation readiness and controlled energisation, ensuring plant, documentation, personnel, access arrangements and system conditions are suitable before power‑on.


• Provide operational support to commissioning and testing activities, including L3/L4 commissioning, functional testing, fault investigation and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).


• Supervise and provide operational direction to Authorised Persons and Competent Persons, ensuring activities remain within their competency and authorisation.


• Conduct operational, LOTO, isolation and Safety Document audits, identifying non‑conformances and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.


• Interface with the Lead SAP, Client, General Contractor, Commissioning Teams, Vendors and other Control Authorities to coordinate electrical operations, SIMOPS, system boundaries and project energisation requirements


• Produce and maintain Switching Schedules / Switching Programmes.


• Produce and maintain Energisation Plans and electrical energisation sequences.


• Establish and maintain the project electrical operational boundary and control arrangements.


• Produce and maintain LOTO / Isolation Registers.


• Maintain Safety Document Registers including Permits to Work, Sanctions for Test and Limitation of Access documentation as applicable.


• Maintain electrical Switching Logs and Operational Logs.


• Review and maintain current operational Single Line Diagrams and system status information.


• Support and document Energisation Readiness Reviews.


• Produce electrical safety and operational status reports as required.


• Maintain records of AP / CP appointments, competencies and authorised scopes where applicable.


• Coordinate electrical system handover and transfer of operational control.


• Maintain complete auditable records of switching, isolation, energisation and electrical safety activities throughout the project.


• Salary fully negotiable depending upon experience. Both permanent and contract positions are considered.
