  • Temporary, Clerk grade 9/10 ($129,464-$142,665 per annum) opportunity, based in Martin Place Sydney, CBD.

About the Role

As Senior Associate, Accounting Advisory and Compliance, you will oversee compliance monitoring and reporting in line with Australian Accounting Standards, Treasury directions, and legislative requirements. You’ll play a key role in mapping finance processes, implementing audit‑driven improvements, and developing policies and procedures to support ERP implementation. This role provides technical accounting advice, prepares position papers, and ensures robust governance and risk management practices.

This is a role with strategic impact and influence on governance and compliance in a central agency. You will work in a collaborative environment, partnering with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams. Join our Finance & Operations team within the Corporate Services Group and strengthen the financial management and reporting across the Premier’s Department.

We’re Looking For
  • Technical Accounting Expertise: You will have a deep understanding of the Australian Accounting Standards, policies and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Professional Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, Commerce or related discipline. A CAANZ or CPAA qualification or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Analytical and Problem‑Solving Skills: You are skilled in mapping finance processes, identifying gaps, and implementing improvements aligned with ERP systems.
  • Governance and Risk Management: Experience in developing and maintaining financial policies and controls to ensure compliance and the ability to monitor and mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks effectively.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to clearly explain complex financial concepts to diverse audiences and build strong collaborative relationships.
