Zusammenfassung

Planet is seeking a Data Scientist to develop high-quality markers from dense satellite imagery time series, delivering insights across agriculture, land management, and climate. You will own end-to-end marker development for Planet’s Area Monitoring System and collaborate with scientists and engineers to deploy models at scale.

You will explore embeddings and AI-first workflows, work with multi-sensor Earth observation data, and iterate based on customer feedback.

Qualifikationen

• 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, data science, or a STEM field.
• Understanding of machine learning principles, including model validation and performance evaluation techniques.
• Proficiency in Python programming with maintainable, well-documented code.
• Experience with AI agents and modern ML tools.
• Version control and working in a shared codebase.

Aufgaben

• Develop algorithms and ML models to extract insights from satellite imagery time series.
• Take a research topic from exploration through to production.
• Own marker results for production deliveries across EU countries and ensure quality before client delivery.
• Explore embeddings-based insight extraction in new areas beyond CAP.
• Use AI agents in daily work to improve team performance.
• Co-own the markers codebase with the team and collaborate on platform solutions.
