Hawthorn Vinnies Store is seeking a passionate and skilled Retail Shop Manager who thrives in a purpose‑driven retail environment. You’ll lead a dedicated team of volunteers and staff, driving growth and delivering an inspiring in‑store experience for customers and the community.

In this role, you will oversee all aspects of shop operations, including team leadership, inventory management, visual merchandising, financial performance, and compliance with organisational policies. Your leadership will directly contribute to funding the Society’s vital programs supporting those experiencing disadvantage.

About You

You are a hands‑on leader with a passion for retail and people. While previous retail management experience is highly regarded, your ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a team both paid staff and volunteers is essential. You bring energy, integrity, and a commitment to extraordinary customer service.

Key Qualities and Experience
  • Proven success in managing retail stores and achieving financial targets
  • Strong people management skills and experience developing diverse teams
  • Experience supervising and supporting volunteers (highly desirable)
  • Eye for visual merchandising and retail presentation
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Alignment with Vinnies’ mission and values
  • Certificate III in Retail or equivalent (desirable)
  • Experience in not‑for‑profit organisations (a plus)
Special Conditions
  • Employment subject to National Police Check and pre‑employment health assessment
  • Physically demanding role (lifting, standing for long periods)
  • Valid Class C driver’s licence preferred

Our retail network is vital in funding programs such as emergency relief, accommodation assistance, and food support.
