The University of Vienna invites applications for a postdoctoral university assistant in the 56 Faculty of Mathematics. The role focuses on Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations with emphasis on finite element methods and wave propagation problems.

The contract starts October 1, 2026 or later and runs for three years. You will participate in research, teaching and administration, collaborate across international teams, present at conferences, and contribute to teaching of courses

Qualifikationen

• Doctorate in mathematics completed before start of contract.
• Emphasis in Numerical Analysis or Scientific Computing.
• Research publications in peer-reviewed venues.
• Excellent command of English, written and spoken.
• Goal-oriented with motivation for scientific excellence.
