The Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) invites applications for a Postdoc position in the Inverse Problems and Mathematical Imaging Group. The role is based in Linz and will run for up to eight months, with English and German as working languages.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field.
• Strong background in partial differential equations and mathematical analysis, in particular: spectral theory, scattering theory and asymptotic analysis with high interest in wave propagation and resonant media.
• The ability to conduct independent research and collaborate within an international team.
• A high level of competence in oral and written English.

Aufgaben

• Work on the FWF-funded project Resolvent Analysis of Subwavelength Resonators (P36942) focusing on spectral and resolvent analysis with uniform estimates.
• Research will include applications to inverse problems and mathematical imaging and involve methods from PDEs, operator theory and asymptotic analysis.
• Collaborate with an international team and contribute to dissemination of research findings.
