Zusammenfassung

University of Vienna invites applications for a Postdoc position in Atmospheric Transport Modelling. The candidate will join the group “Atmospheric Transport Processes” led by Prof.

Andreas Stohl and contribute to the FLEXPART model, with freedom to propose new topics and to develop applications in transport of greenhouse gases, pollutants and related areas. The role includes research and teaching duties, supervision of students, and publication of results in international journals.

Qualifikationen

• Completed Ph.D. / Doctoral degree in the atmospheric sciences (e.g., meteorology, climatology), or a related field.
• Strong programming skills.
• Experience with Lagrangian transport models.

Aufgaben

• Active participation in research and teaching, including maintenance and development of FLEXPART.
• Conduct research on topics within the group interests using FLEXPART or your own topics.
• Write and contribute to project applications and acquire third-party funding.
• Provide scientific and technical support to team members and students.
• Teach independently within the collective bargaining provisions and co-supervise theses.
• Publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
• Strengthen collaborative culture within the team and department.
