People & Culture Business Partnering Manager

ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. About the Opportunity

This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in complex, evolving environments. You will lead a business partnering function across the Multi‑Class Sustainment and Corporate functions, operating as a valued advisory team to senior stakeholders. Success will come from building credibility, leveraging data, and delivering strategic guidance that aligns talent priorities with business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Scale a business partnering framework that is consistent, consultative, and future‑focused;
  • Drive stakeholder engagement through influence and thought leadership, ensuring talent decisions are proactive and aligned with organisational goals;
  • Build a high‑performing team that embodies partnering excellence and delivers measurable impact;
  • Integrate talent planning into broader business transformation initiatives, partnering closely with P&C, Finance, and leadership teams;
  • Navigate ambiguity with confidence, providing clarity and direction in complex environments;
  • Shape decisions through insight and collaboration, leveraging relationships and data‑driven insights to guide decision‑making; and;
  • Deliver strategic and operational P&C services that enable programme readiness and organisational success.
About you
  • Proven experience in building or transforming business partnering functions within large, complex organisations;
  • Strong ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes without relying on formal delegation;
  • Comfortable operating in transformative environments where agility and innovation are essential;
  • Leadership capability to inspire and motivate teams across multiple functions; and
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, or related discipline.

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a Baseline level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
