• Support local Medical Affairs plans aligned with product strategy.

Job Description Summary

As a Medical Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing the Medical Affairs strategy within your assigned therapeutic area. You will serve as a trusted scientific partner, providing medical expertise across the product lifecycle, supporting clinical research activities, generating actionable medical insights, and fostering meaningful scientific exchange with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.

Job Description

• Support the development and execution of local Medical Affairs plans in alignment with the overall product and franchise strategy.
• Provide high-quality, timely, and compliant responses to medical and scientific inquiries from external and internal stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain standard response documents for frequently asked medical questions where appropriate.
• Provide scientific and medical input into the planning and execution of clinical research activities, including clinical studies and research projects within the assigned therapeutic area.
• Support the country strategy for Non-Interventional Studies (NIS) and Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of evidence generation and medical initiatives.
• Coordinate the medical review and approval of scientific and promotional materials in accordance with local regulations and company policies.
• Adapt and localize global and regional medical materials to meet country-specific requirements and stakeholder needs.
• Generate and communicate medical insights to internal stakeholders, including Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, Quality Assurance, Commercial, and Brand teams.
• Build and maintain scientific relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and other relevant stakeholders.
• Identify and assess risks within areas of responsibility and implement appropriate mitigation measures and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, company policies, ethics, and industry standards.
• Report technical complaints, adverse events, and special situation cases associated with Novartis products within timelines.
• Support the compliant distribution of marketing samples where applicable.

Essential Requirements

• Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related scientific discipline (MD, PharmD, PhD, MSc, or equivalent).
• Experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Clinical Development, or another relevant pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.
• Strong scientific acumen with the ability to critically evaluate and communicate clinical data.
• Experience working with clinical studies, evidence generation activities, or medical projects.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional and matrix organizations.
• Strong stakeholder management and scientific engagement skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• High ethical standards and a commitment to compliance and patient-centricity.
• Fluent in English; local language proficiency may be depending on the country.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience within the relevant therapeutic area.
• Knowledge of local healthcare systems, regulatory environment, and clinical research requirements.
• Previous experience supporting Non-Interventional Studies or Investigator Initiated Trials.

Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: 93,800.00 - 134,000.00 - 174,200.00 CHF Annual

The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters.
