Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experimental and test background with solid engineering skills.
• Experience developing and executing engineering test plans and data analysis.

Aufgaben

• Lead development and execution of tests for substrate holders and related handling and automation hardware, validating mechanical performance, stability, durability, and operating limits
• Build, operate, and improve prototype test stands, fixtures, and test methods used to evaluate precision mechanical systems, while supporting other mechanical test stands as needed
• Partner closely with automation, substrate handling, and design engineers to assess concepts, troubleshoot issues, and provide data-driven recommendations that reduce technical risk
• Execute verification and characterization testing, analyze results, and investigate failure modes using structured problem-solving methods and sound engineering judgment
• Select and apply appropriate instrumentation, measurement methods, and data acquisition tools to ensure accurate, repeatable, and efficient testing
• Create clear technical documentation including test plans, procedures, reports, and design review materials, and communicate findings effectively to cross-functional teams

Who we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field with 5+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience; or PhD in a related field
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills
• Proficient in 3D CAD tools such as CREO, Siemens NX, ProE, SolidWorks, and others
• Hands‑on experimental, prototype, and test background coupled with solid engineering skills
• Experience developing and executing engineering test plans, analyzing data, and communicating technical conclusions
• Strong engineering fundamentals with experience in mechanical and mechatronic systems, hardware troubleshooting, and structured problem solving
• Experience supporting the validation of precision mechanical assemblies, motion‑related hardware, or substrate support and handling

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large panels, panel‑level systems, or advanced packaging applications
• Familiarity with automation‑integrated hardware, linear actuators, mechanism design, and strength of materials
• Experience with instrumentation, DAQ systems, and Python for test automation or data analysis
• Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE); Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt training is a plus

What we're offering

This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry in occupation group F, depending on your educational background. A higher payment is negotiable depending on expertise and skills.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on‑site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On‑site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On‑site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on‑site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on‑site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
