About the role

As the Manager, Compliance Governance & Reporting at Australian Retirement Trust, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s compliance culture and ensuring robust governance across all regulatory obligations. You’ll lead a high-performing team, drive continuous improvement, and provide critical oversight as the second line of defence. Key aspects of the role include:

  • Establish and maintain ART’s compliance obligations management framework.
  • Oversee the development and upkeep of a comprehensive compliance obligations register.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
  • Lead regular compliance monitoring activities and thematic reviews.
  • Design and deliver enterprise-wide compliance reporting for executive and board committees.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate a dedicated compliance team.
  • Foster a strong risk culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business units to validate and implement compliance obligations.
  • Support communication of regulatory changes to key stakeholders.
  • Champion ART’s values of courage, empathy, and excellence in all aspects of your work.

This role is a permanent opportunity based in Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles within financial services or superannuation.
  • Deep understanding of Australian superannuation legislation, prudential standards, and regulatory expectations.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and maintain compliance management frameworks and registers.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at senior levels.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in designing and delivering enterprise-wide compliance reporting for executive and board audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data and insights for compliance monitoring and improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective stakeholder management.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, adaptability, and fostering a strong risk and compliance culture.
