About the Role

As a Major Loss Supervisor (junior/senior opportunities available), you will take ownership of major loss projects from initial assessment through to reinstatement. You’ll ensure exceptional outcomes for both insurers and policyholders by managing assessments, estimates, and coordinating trades throughout the restoration process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting detailed building insurance assessment reports for major loss projects
  • Supervising reinstatement works to ensure quality and compliance with specifications and standards
  • Engaging, coordinating and managing trades throughout the full project lifecycle
  • Tracking progress, proactively identifying and resolving issues through communication and negotiation
  • Acting as the primary liaison between insurers, loss assessors and insured parties
  • Coordinating site access, client communications and schedule logistics
  • Managing disputes and resolving on-site issues where required
  • Ensuring all works comply with legislative, contractual and OH&S requirements
  • Overseeing inspections and maintaining accurate compliance documentation
About You
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a site supervision or similar role (major loss/insurance building experience highly regarded)
  • Solid trade background with hands‑on industry knowledge
  • Prior exposure to insurance repair work is highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, standards, and compliance
  • Confident in report writing and documentation
  • Familiarity with current market rates and trades is a plus
  • Sound knowledge of OHS legislation and site safety practices
  • Exceptional time management and organisational abilities
  • Clear, professional communication style with strong conflict resolution skills
  • Collaborative mindset with a flexible approach to meeting team and client KPIs
  • Solid working knowledge of QBCC Standards and Tolerances, Australian Standards, and WH&S regulations
Requirements
  • A current QBCC Building Supervisor licence or Builder’s licence
  • Valid Driver's License
