Human Resources Director — Strategic Growth & People Leadership

We are partnering exclusively with a respected and rapidly scaling Australian division of an international group that is accelerating its exciting phase of expansion, performance and people transformation. The Opportunity

This is a senior strategic HR leadership role reporting to the Divisional Managing Director with a matrix reporting line to the Group Chief People Officer ANZ. The role is accountable for developing and executing a contemporary People & Culture strategy that accelerates growth, drives performance, strengthens organisational capability whilst improving the employee experience.

Core Responsibilities
  • Design, articulate and deliver a future-focused People & Culture strategy aligned to business growth, operational efficiency and a high-performance culture
  • Functional leadership and improvement — lead a State based team of P&C professionals whilst leveraging group capability to improve the portfolios of Talent, Culture, Technology, Reward & Recognition, Employee Experience, Employee and Industrial Relations and Governance.
  • Growth and business value – support both organic and M&A growth. Bring operational discipline to mitigate risk through robust due diligence and help realise value through sound integration and change management.
  • Trusted partner – draw upon your knowledge, experience and data-driven insights to provide expert and timely advice to senior executives to improve performance and mitigate risk.
  • Champion a modern Employee Experience - develop and implement an employee experience framework to support the recruitment and retention of market leading talent.
  • Attract, retain and develop high-performing talent — building leadership capability, succession strength and career development through the business and into the broader Group.
  • Drive Reward & Recognition strategy - lead all facets of reward and recognition, aligning remuneration to business strategy and performance outcomes, ensuring gender pay gaps are assessed and addressed and incentives are market competitive.
  • Extend from governance to insight - ensure governance and reporting requirements are met whilst driving greater people analytics and insights to improve productivity and decision making.
Success Profile
  • You are an experienced HR executive who has led HR teams in multi-site environments — ideally with exposure to manufacturing, construction materials or industrial operations.
  • Strong preference for candidates with industry experience in manufacturing, construction materials or industrial operations.
  • 10+ years' senior HR leadership with sound technical expertise.
  • Achievement and solution orientated.
  • Commercial and tech savvy and influential with leadership teams.
  • Adaptable and collaborative- from strategy to hands‑on pragmatism, from site to Group work.
  • Proven success in growth, acquisition, or integration environments.
  • Sydney or Melbourne based.
  • Must have Australian work rights.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field required.
