Full Professor of Jewish Studies with a Focus on Persecution History and Antisemitism Studies
The position:
The advertised position covers key aspects of Jewish culture, literature, religion, and history across its entire geographical scope (Global Jewish Studies). A special focus lies on the history of Jewish persecution from the ancient period to the present day.
The professorship represents the subject area comprehensively in research and teaching. Teaching is mandatory in compulsory modules in the Bachelor's, Master's and Extension curricula in Jewish Studies, supplemented by supervision of BA, MA and Doctoral Theses. Participation in one of the faculty’s key research areas and in the Doctoral School of Historical and Cultural Studies is also expected.
Your academic profile:
The University of Vienna expects the successful candidate to acquire, within three years, proficiency in German sufficient for teaching in bachelor’s programmes and for participation in university committees.
