SKIDATA is seeking a Software & Linux Expert to join our engineering team in Austria. You will own an edge gateway platform, shape architecture, and ensure platform reliability and security.

You will tackle Linux-based system challenges and collaborate with international teams to deliver AI-ready capabilities. The role offers a flexible hybrid work model, meal allowance, and bike leasing, with a minimum salary of EUR 2,879 gross per month.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on software engineering with focus on system programming or platform development.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, or Rust.
• Experience with Linux-based systems and Docker.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted software development (GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and own critical components.
• Excellent collaboration in an international, cross-functional environment.

Aufgaben

• Edge Platform Ownership: design, develop, maintain, and evolve an edge gateway platform for cloud-connected services and future AI-driven capabilities.
• Shape Architecture: contribute to architecture decisions, technology selection, and roadmaps for long-term sustainability.
• Platform Excellence: ensure reliability, scalability, security, and observability across distributed edge deployments.
• Problem Solving: analyze and resolve complex technical challenges across Linux, networking, services, and cloud integration layers.
• Collaborate & Integrate: work with Product Owners, Architects, and Engineers to define requirements and deliver platform enhancements.
