Our client, a well‑known logistics provider to the food industry established in 1943, has a great opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join their business in Launceston. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced leadership role overseeing daily transport and warehouse operations across morning and afternoon shifts. The operations manager will lead and coach a diverse team of supervisors, drivers, store persons, and pickers to ensure the smooth running of day‑to‑day logistics, stock control, compliance, and delivery schedules.

Responsibilities
  • Understand and implement HACCP, quality & food safety required within the standards and timeframes
  • Implement OH&S standards and manage workers safety and workers compensation
  • Maintain budgets
  • Assist in the development and expansion of existing client base
  • Oversee site operations and co‑ordinate day‑to‑day administration of the site
  • Manage all operational staff as well as implement staff evaluation, training and recruitment as required

  • A hands‑on leader, leading by example in a fast‑paced environment

  • Has excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels
  • Able to work under pressure

This role will require some flexibility in terms of working hours and being able to respond to early morning calls should there be any operational issues, with the working typically starting around 6.30-7am.
