Stott and May is seeking an experienced AI Engineer specializing in Generative AI, RAG, AI Agents and enterprise AI solutions to support our AI Centre of Enablement in Vienna. The role is hybrid with minimum 3 days onsite per week.

You will design, develop and industrialise production-ready AI solutions, working with stakeholders to move from PoC to enterprise adoption, while maintaining security and governance considerations and delivering scalable cloud-based integrations using Azure

AI Engineer - Generative AI & Agentic Systems

Location: Vienna, Austria (Hybrid - minimum 3 days onsite per week)

Contract Duration: Until the end of the year, with a strong possibility of extension

The Role

We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer specialising in Generative AI, RAG, AI Agents and enterprise AI solutions to support a growing AI Centre of Enablement. The successful candidate will contribute to the RAISE project, focused on AI-powered software development across the organisation, as well as other strategic AI initiatives. You will be responsible for designing, developing and industrialising production-ready AI solutions, working closely with technical and business stakeholders to move solutions from proof of concept through to enterprise adoption.

This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone with a strong software engineering background who enjoys working with emerging AI technologies and turning them into practical, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Generative AI solutions, AI agents and RAG architectures.
• Develop Proofs of Concept and Minimum Viable Products to validate new AI use cases.
• Build reusable AI components and frameworks that can be leveraged across multiple initiatives.
• Integrate AI solutions into existing enterprise applications, systems and workflows.
• Develop cloud-based AI and integration solutions using modern Microsoft and Azure technologies.
• Support the industrialisation and production deployment of AI solutions.
• Contribute to Responsible AI, security and governance activities across the AI Centre of Enablement.
• Work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Support knowledge transfer and contribute to best practices, documentation and standards within the AI CoE.
• Help evolve AI solutions through continuous testing, optimisation and improvement.
• Strong software engineering background with hands-on development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI or comparable LLM platforms.
• Proven experience building RAG architectures and AI-powered applications.
• Experience designing and developing AI agents and agentic systems.
• Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise systems and cloud-based platforms.
• Strong understanding of Generative AI and Large Language Models.
• Strong hands-on mentality with a delivery-focused approach.
• Ability to take AI solutions from initial concept and PoC through to production.
• Good understanding of enterprise security, governance and Responsible AI considerations.
• Good German language skills are mandatory.
