AUSTRIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY GMBH is seeking a Junior Research Engineer to join the Cyber Threat Intelligence team in Vienna. The role focuses on applying NLP and AI to process threat feeds, developing the Taranis AI platform, and enhancing software with modern CI/CD practices.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers and contribute to open-source projects. The position offers part-time or full-time hours in a collaborative, innovative environment with opportunities to work on

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, NLP, and data analysis.
• Basic understanding of OSINT tools and methodologies.
• Proficiency in using Git and GitHub for version control.
• Experience with web application development in Python, preferably with Flask.

Aufgaben

• Develop and maintain the Taranis AI platform in collaboration with senior developers.
• Apply NLP algorithms and leverage large language models to process cyber threat intelligence feeds.
• Contribute to software design and implementation of innovative solutions.
• Improve development processes using CI/CD pipelines and Agile methods.
• Engage with European partners and security authorities to build a network over multi-year projects.
