Job summary

American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of English in Writing Studies. The candidate should hold a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition, Applied Linguistics, or related field and demonstrate a strong publication record with commitment to undergraduate teaching.

Preferred: 3+ years teaching in North American-style HEIs and experience with international student populations.

Qualifications

• PhD in Rhetoric and Composition, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related field
• Record of publications in high-quality venues commensurate with rank
• Demonstrated experience teaching academic writing at the undergraduate level

Responsibilities

• Teach a six-course annual load (3/3) and contribute to department and university life through service, mentoring, and governance.
• Engage in scholarship with a strong publication record and participate in interdisciplinary collaboration.
