Job Description

The purpose of the job is to provide advanced specialist advice, assessment, and treatment to inpatients with wounds at SSMC. They coordinate clinical care for high-risk patients with complex skin integrity issues across the continuum of care settings, integrating knowledge of advanced pathophysiology and human responses to health problems to plan and monitor patient outcomes. The Wound Care Nurse functions as a care provider, educator, and consultant, providing leadership through preceptor and quality improvement roles, and possessing excellent communication skills for mentoring, teaching, and committee participation.

Qualifications
Experience

Required:

  • Not less than 4 years of clinical experience post qualification in an appropriate & relevant healthcare settings
  • Not less than 2 years’ experience in the wound care unit.

Educational Qualification

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing OR Degree in Nursing (minimum two (2) years course duration) and registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia
  • Valid/current national license.
  • BLS.
