Job summary

GAL is seeking a maintenance assistant to support the Workshops Supervisor in inspecting and repairing aircraft ground support equipment (AGSE). You will disassemble, repair, adjust, and replace components following manuals and safety directives.

Responsibilities include tool handling, parts requisition, inventory control, and training host national personnel on AGSE maintenance. You will ensure proper records and forms are completed and kept up to date.

Qualifications

• Experience performing maintenance on aircraft ground support equipment (AGSE).
• Ability to read and follow applicable manuals and safety directives.
• Familiar with basic inspection, repair, and parts requisition processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Workshops Supervisor with maintenance inspections and repairs on AGSE.
• Disassemble, repair, adjust, and replace AGSE components as directed.
• Maintain shop and bench stock for repair parts and tools.
• Inspect records and forms per required procedures.
• Train personnel on proper AGSE maintenance.
• Manage tools and equipment inventory as assigned.

Job description

Assist the Workshops Supervisor to accomplish maintenance inspections services and repairs on all assigned aircraft support equipment

• 1 Disassembles repairs resembles adjusts removes replaces services prepares preserves welds paints cleans and troubleshoots pneumatic hydraulics electrical gasoline diesel engine systems subsystems and components according to applicable manuals and safety directives
• 2 Uses and performs user maintenance with common and special tools
• 3 Requisitions AGSE parts and maintains shop and bench stock for repair of ground support equipment
• 4 Inspects and prepares forms and records in accordance with DA PAM PHONE NUMBER
• 5 Train host national personnel on the proper maintenance of the AGSE and related components
• 6 Responsible for tools and equipment inventory assigned by the supervisor
