We are seeking an experienced QC Inspector – Welding to join our team for an onshore oil and gas construction project. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing welding inspection and surveillance activities to ensure that all welding works for pipelines and flowlines comply with approved project specifications, applicable codes, standards, and quality requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Report to the Discipline QC Engineer and carry out welding inspection and surveillance activities in accordance with the approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and project inspection schedules.
- Perform inspections for welding-related activities including fit-up, welding, visual inspection, repair welding, and associated pipeline/flowline construction works.
- Verify compliance of welding activities with approved WPS, PQR, welder qualifications, project specifications, drawings, and applicable international codes and standards.
- Ensure that all inspected welding works comply with project quality requirements and client specifications.
- Identify, document, and report non-conformances related to welding activities and follow up on corrective actions in coordination with the Discipline QC Engineer.
- Generate, review, and maintain all welding inspection and testing records in accordance with approved ITPs, ensuring timely completion and proper approval/signatures.
- Maintain welding discipline quality records and inspection files for ongoing construction activities, ensuring documentation reflects the current construction status.
- Participate in site quality walkthroughs, audits, and inspections as required by the project and client.
- Ensure that all Inspection, Measuring, and Test Equipment (IM&TE) used for welding inspection is properly calibrated, valid, and fit for purpose.
- Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, and engineering teams to support quality compliance during pipeline and flowline welding activities.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of total experience in the oil and gas industry, including construction and source inspection activities.
- Engineering Degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline.
- Certification: CSWIP 3.1, AWS-CWI, or another equivalent certification approved by the Company.
- Mandatory experience in pipeline and flowline welding for onshore oil and gas projects.
- Good command of English (spoken and written).
- Strong knowledge of welding inspection techniques, international welding codes (ASME, API), and quality documentation.
