Job summary

A leading engineering firm in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Welding Co Ordinator / Welding Engineer to oversee pipeline welding operations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering along with a Master's in Welding, and at least 12 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. Key responsibilities include supervising the welding team, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and coordinating with inspection teams. Strong English communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of experience as welding engineer in Oil & Gas.
  • Strong communication skills with fluency in English speaking and writing.

Responsibilities

  • Setting and supervising pipeline welding activities at site.
  • Selecting welders and monitoring their performance.
  • Coordinating with NDT and inspection teams.

Skills

Technical experience in pipeline welding using GTAW, SMAW
Working knowledge of pipeline welding code API 1104, DNV-OS-F101
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
Problem solving and decision-making ability

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy or Mechanical
Master's Degree in Welding
NDT level II in RT, UT, MT, PT

Job Description - Welding Co Ordinator / Welding Engineer
  1. Setting, Supervising & carry out activities related to pipeline welding at Site
  2. Select Welders based on requirements of Material of Construction & monitor performance
  3. Co ordinate with NDT ,Welding inspection team & Client QC
  4. Full responsibility over welding team i.e. Welding foreman, pipeline welders, helpers etc. for daily productivity, safety & quality.
  5. Ensuring availably of resources i.e. Welding Team, Welding machine, Welding consumable etc.
  6. Well conversant with welding procedures, project welding specification & applicable construction code.
  7. Assessment & evaluation of welding work environment & provide welding facility requirements including equipment, personal protection & HSE.
  8. Qualification of Welders & Welding procedure as per Pipeline Construction Code.
Skill Required
  1. Technical experience in pipeline welding using welding process such as GTAW, SMAW for material CS & CRA ( Inconel 625)
  2. Working Knowledge of pipeline welding code API 1104, DNV-OS-F101, ISO 13623 & Welding code ASME Sec IX, ISO 9606, ISO 15614-1 etc.
  3. Ability to read, interpret & implement Construction drawing ,WPS, PQR, WQT & ITP for pipeline
  4. Proactively identify & communicate Risk to Project Schedule, deliverables & cost, provide mitigation plan as required.
  5. Problem solving & decision-making ability
Educations & Experience
  1. Batchelors Degree in Engineering ( Metallurgy or Mechanical) with master's degree in Welding.
  2. Alternatively, Bachelor of Mechanical or Metallurgical engineering with International Welding Engineer Diploma ( IWE, CWE or equivalent)
  3. Min. 12 Years of experience as welding engineer within Oil& Gas, Piping, Pipeline, project environment.
  4. Strong Communication skill with Fluency in English - Speaking & Writing
  5. NDT level II in RT, UT, MT, PT
