Job summary

Emirates Electrical & Instrumentation Company in Abu Dhabi is seeking a skilled welder to join our oil and gas division. You will perform MIG, TIG and Stick welding, read technical drawings, prepare materials, and ensure weld quality on large-scale projects according to specifications.

The role requires careful inspection of welds, strict adherence to safety, PPE usage, and collaboration with multiple trades to meet production deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical welding certification or diploma preferred.
• Proven oil and gas welding experience.
• Experience with large-scale projects is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding on metal components using MIG, TIG, and Stick welding per specs.
• Inspect welds for quality, strength, and accuracy.
• Read drawings and blueprints to determine welding requirements and procedures.
• Prepare materials and surfaces, clean, cut, and fit components as needed.
• Operate and maintain welding equipment and PPE.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform welding on metal components and structures using various techniques including MIG, TIG and Stick welding according to project specifications and blueprints.
• Inspect welds for quality, strength and accuracy.
• Ensure that welds meet industry standards and project requirements.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine welding requirements and procedures.
• Prepare materials and surfaces for welding by cleaning, cutting and fitting components as needed.
• Operate and maintain welding equipment including welding machines, torches and protective gear.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure that all welds are completed to a high standard and are free from defects.
• Perform routine checks and tests on welds as required.
• Work with other trades and team members to complete projects efficiently and address any welding-related issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical certification or diploma in welding or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a welder in the oil and gas industry.
• Experience with large-scale projects is an advantage.
