Job description
SUMMARY

The Waiter is responsible for providing outstanding service to restaurant guests. This includes presenting menu options, offering recommendations when needed, serving food and beverages, and addressing any guest inquiries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Greet and seat guests as they enter the restaurant.
  • Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and offer recommendations.
  • Take accurate food and drink orders using a POS system (Micros).
  • Communicate with the kitchen about the orders and be very clear about special wishes of guests.
  • Ensure timely delivery of meals and drinks.
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with their meal and provide additional assistance as needed.
  • Process payments, issue receipts, and handle cash or card transactions.
  • Keep tables clean and ensure the dining area is tidy at all times.
  • Follow all health & safety, food safety and hygiene regulations and hotel procedures.
  • Keep track of the stock and supplies in the restaurant and communicate where there might be a shortage like linen, glass work, etc.
  • Support opening and closure procedures.
  • Takes reservations in cooperation with the supervisor and hostess/host if necessary due to special requests of the guest.
  • Monitor operating supplies, equipment and reduce spoilage and wastage successfully.
  • Ensure that Food and Beverage orders are of a consistently good standard and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Any other reasonable duties assigned by hotel management.
