Job summary

Sound Star Events LLC seeks a senior Video/LED Head of Department to own the video and LED operations for high-profile events in Abu Dhabi. You will oversee LED walls, projection, switching, cameras, and signal flow, with responsibility for standards, inventory, and agency collaboration.

The role requires 8+ years in video/broadcast/LED and mastery of multiple switchers and LED processing platforms. On-site focus in Abu Dhabi with extensive live event activity and coordination of freelance staff.

Qualifications

8+ years in video/broadcast/LED roles with leadership experience.
Expertise on major switcher platforms and LED processing
Strong knowledge of media servers and pixel-mapping workflows
Familiarity with UAE corporate/hotel/government event production norms

Responsibilities

Owns video and LED department, including LED walls, projection, switching, processing, cameras and signal flow.
Spec LED walls, projections and broadcast infra for events.
Manage capex planning for video and maintain inventory of gear.
Set processing/calibration standards and supervise freelancers.
Coordinate on disguise/Notch/media server workflows where applicable.

Role summary

Owns the video and LEDdepartment — LED walls, projection, switching, processing, cameras, and signalflow. The most capex-heavy department in most modern AVL companies.

Key responsibilities

Spec LED walls, projectionsystems, and broadcast / video infrastructure for jobs.
Maintain LED panel inventory,processors, switchers, projectors, cameras, and comms.
Own capex planning for video —typically the largest single line item.
Set processing, calibration, andsignal-flow standards.
Manage freelance video engineer /TD roster.
Lead on disguise / Notch / mediaserver workflows where applicable.
Approve overtime and shiftassignments for the video team.

Qualifications & experience

8+ years professional video /broadcast / LED experience.
Expert on at least one majorswitcher platform (Ross Carbonite, Grass Valley, Blackmagic ATEM Constellation,Roland).
Deep knowledge of LED processing(Brompton Tessera, Novastar, Megapixel).
Experience with disguise, Notch,or comparable media server / pixel-mapping platforms.
Familiar with UAE corporate /hotel / government event production conventions.
