The VAT Director will have broad ownership of the technical quality, market development, and financial performance of the UAE VAT Advisory practice. Rather than focusing solely on engagement delivery, the position requires an experienced leader who can anticipate client requirements, create commercially viable advisory opportunities, and build a team capable of handling increasingly complex indirect tax matters. The director 's performance will influence client retention, market credibility, revenue generation, and the long-term strength of the practice.
This position requires a senior VAT and Indirect Tax Advisory professional with several years of relevant experience and substantial exposure to the UAE market. Candidates must demonstrate strong technical knowledge of UAE VAT and practical experience applying tax legislation to complex commercial situations. Previous responsibility for major advisory engagements and senior client relationships is essential. The successful professional will be comfortable engaging directly with CFOs, Finance Directors, Tax Heads, and other executives while also managing technical teams and commercial priorities. A background within a Big 4 firm, leading professional services organization, or established tax advisory business is preferred. Experience developing a practice, managing a service line, winning new assignments, or expanding strategic accounts will provide a strong advantage. CA, CTA, ACCA, CPA, ADIT, or an equivalent professional qualification is preferred. Strong leadership, commercial judgment, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management capabilities are required, together with the ability to maintain technical standards while pursuing ambitious growth and profitability objectives.
