Job Overview

The Valve Technician is responsible for inspection, maintenance, repair, testing, and refurbishment of industrial valves used in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, and process plant environments. The role requires hands-on technical expertise, strict adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform disassembly, inspection, repair, overhaul, and reassembly of various industrial valves such as gate, globe, ball, check, control, PSV, and actuated valves.
• Conduct valve testing, pressure testing, leak testing, and functional testing as per API, ASME, and client specifications.
• Identify valve defects, wear, corrosion, and operational issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities on-site or in workshop environments.
• Read and interpret valve drawings, manuals, work instructions, and technical specifications accurately.
• Ensure proper documentation of maintenance, inspection, and test records.
• Follow safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and company HSE policies at all times.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and QA/QC teams to meet project and shutdown schedules.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Support shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency maintenance activities when required.
