Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Examine patients, obtain medical histories, and perform thorough physical examinations to diagnose urological conditions. Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood tests, urinalysis, imaging, and biopsies.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop personalized treatment plans for patients which may include medications, minimally invasive procedures, or surgical interventions.
  • Surgical Procedures: Perform surgical procedures when necessary such as kidney stone removal, prostate surgery, bladder surgery, and vasectomy.
  • Counseling: Provide patients with information about their conditions, treatment options, and potential side effects. Offer guidance on lifestyle changes and preventive measures.
  • Monitoring and Follow-up: Monitor the progress of patients undergoing treatment, adjust treatment plans as needed, and conduct follow-up appointments to assess outcomes and provide ongoing care.
  • Emergency Care: Respond to urological emergencies such as urinary tract infections, kidney stones, and urological trauma with timely and effective interventions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other medical professionals including primary care physicians, radiologists, oncologists, and nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Research and Education: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in urology through continuing education and research. Contribute to medical knowledge by conducting research studies and publishing findings.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate medical records including patient histories, examination findings, diagnostic test results, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Ethical and Legal Compliance: Adhere to medical ethics and legal regulations, ensuring patient confidentiality and informed consent.
