Job summary

QBE invites a seasoned Underwriting Manager, Financial Lines, to lead the department in Dubai. You will steer strategy, oversee the underwriting team, ensure quality risk selection, and collaborate with sales to grow the business.

This leadership role drives governance, profitability, and client solutions in a dynamic insurance market. You will work with senior underwriting leaders, manage a regional portfolio, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering strong performance and team

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years experience as a Financial Lines Underwriter/Broker.
  • Knowledge of local insurance industry regulations and statutory processes.
  • Ability to manage a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Primary Details

Time Type: Full timeWorker Type: EmployeeThe purpose of this role is to lead the Product for the relevant Branch office ensuring delivery of the agreed allocation of the Product business plan and managing the Underwriting Team. This role involves underwriting business in line with the business plan managing a team of Underwriters and overseeing a Profit and Loss Statement across major product lines. Additionally the role includes engagement with senior underwriting leaders supporting portfolio development plans contributing to the Regional Underwriting Board and ensuring governance legal and regulatory oversight.

About you
  • Minimum of 6 years experience as a Financial Lines Underwriter/Broker.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Communication influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to prioritize achieve targets and deadlines analytical and problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English language/ Arabic language is a nice to have.
  • Knowledge of local insurance industry regulations and statutory processes.
  • Ability to manage a team.
