Job summary

AiFi Technologies LLC is seeking an experienced UAV Pilot in the UAE to operate, assemble, prototype, and test unmanned aerial vehicles up to 20 kg MTOW. The role emphasizes hands-on flight operations, flight testing, and integration with engineering teams.

You will conduct maiden flights, perform safety checks, document tests, and ensure compliance with UAE aviation regulations. A solid background in UAV prototyping and maintenance is required, with 5–8 years in related flight operations

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical discipline.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in UAV flight operations, testing, assembly, or integration.
• Mandatory hands-on flight experience operating UAVs with an MTOW of 20 kg or above.

Responsibilities

• Operate UAV platforms with an MTOW of 20 kg or above including fixed-wing and VTOL systems.
• Conduct manual, stabilized, and autonomous flight operations.
• Execute flight-test missions, including maiden flights, performance evaluations, and endurance testing.
• Perform pre-flight inspections, flight readiness checks, and post-flight assessments.
• Handle emergency situations, abnormal flight conditions, and contingency procedures.
• Support flight-tests planning, risk assessments, and operational safety procedures.
• Perform hands-on UAV assembly, prototyping, modification, and integration activities.
• Install and integrate propulsion systems, flight controllers, avionics, sensors, communication systems, and payloads.
• Conduct mechanical assembly, wiring, component installation, and system-level functional checks.
• Support troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, and modifications of UAV platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering teams during UAV prototype development and integration.
• Perform flight-controller calibration, control-surface checks, actuator testing, and system verification.
• Conduct ground testing of propulsion, communication, navigation, and flight-control systems.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical issues during integration and flight-testing activities.
• Maintain flight logs, test records, maintenance records, and incident reports.
• Provide flight-test feedback to engineering teams for product improvement.
• Ensure compliance with applicable UAE aviation regulations and company flight safety procedures.
• Support preparation of flight-test checklists, operating procedures, and test reports.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced UAV Pilot with strong hands-on expertise in operating, assembling, prototyping, and testing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The ideal candidate should have proven experience flying UAVs with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) of 20 kg and abovepreferably fixed-wingand VTOL platforms and actively supporting UAV development and flight-testing activities.

Required Qualification & Experience

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical discipline.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in UAV flight operations, testing, assembly, or integration.
• Mandatory hands-on flight experience operating UAVs with an MTOW of 20 kg or above.
• Strong manual piloting skills and experience operating UAVs in different flight modes.
• Practical experience in UAV prototyping, assembly, system integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of UAV propulsion systems, avionics, flight controllers, and communication systems.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and flight-related issues.
• Good understanding of UAV flight safety procedures and emergency handling.

Preferred Skills

• Experience flying fixed-wing UAVs with internal combustion engines.
• Experience operating VTOL or hybrid UAV platforms.
• Experience in prototype development, maiden flights, and experimental flight testing.
• Knowledge of RC systems, telemetry links, GNSS, and flight-control systems.
• Familiarity with UAV flight-log analysis and basic performance evaluation.
• Previous UAV flight-testing experience in the UAE.
