An international academic institution in Dubai seeks a part-time tutor for the Art Direction program. The ideal candidate will have an MA in Art Direction or a related field and at least two years of teaching experience. Responsibilities include mentoring students, preparing innovative course materials, and supporting curriculum development. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to foster a collaborative learning environment. A solid industry network is preferred.
The purpose of this part‑time role is to contribute to the academic excellence at Istituto Marangoni Dubai by teaching in the area of Art Direction particularly applied to Fashion Communication and the Image‑making industries.
The successful candidate will bring expertise in concept development, set design and production processes and the translation of visual strategies into compelling narratives. You will guide students from ideation to execution while aligning with CAA educational standards and Istituto Marangoni’s academic vision.
In addition to classroom teaching you will be involved in course preparation, curriculum innovation and collaborative academic initiatives aimed at developing high‑level creative competencies in students.
The tutor will teach and mentor students in the Art Direction pathway and will support curriculum delivery, development and academic activities associated with fashion image set design and communication practices.
Deliver subject content with clarity, structure and alignment to the CAA standards and Istituto Marangoni’s methodological guidelines. Develop and update the Course File structure ensuring all lesson plans and materials are in place. Prepare engaging and innovative teaching materials based on current industry trends and educational best practices. Participate in school‑wide creative projects, guest lectures and events to enrich the academic environment. Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance and support quality assurance processes. Coordinate with the Director of Education and Programme Leader to ensure academic coherence and integrity.
Support students in developing strong visual storytelling, creative research and art‑direction portfolios. Monitor and guide the student academic journey providing constructive feedback throughout formative and summative assessments. Encourage critical thinking, experimentation and industry‑readiness through workshops, critiques and group projects. Promote interdisciplinary collaborations and contribute to a supportive and inclusive academic environment. Provide timely academic and pastoral support addressing student concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Initiate and foster engagement with relevant industries, organisations and professional bodies to develop opportunities for the School in the field.
