Job summary

Allocation Assist Middle East seeks a Consultant Critical Care Physician - Transplant ICU in Dubai, UAE. The role focuses on advanced intensive care for liver and kidney transplant patients, including perioperative management and organ support.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent recognized medical degree.
• Completed residency training in Critical Care Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Fellowship or subspecialty training in Critical Care Medicine, Transplant ICU, or related discipline.
• Board Certification such as UK CCT, American Board, Canadian FRCP, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of post-fellowship experience in transplant-related intensive care.
• Valid DHA license or eligibility for DHA Consultant classification.
• Strong leadership and clinical decision-making abilities.
• Excellent professional communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in English.
• Arabic language skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead ICU management of critically ill transplant patients.
• Provide intensive care during preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative phases of transplantation.
• Manage complex liver and kidney transplant patients requiring advanced critical care support.
• Assess critically ill patients and develop individualized intensive care treatment plans.
• Collaborate closely with transplant surgeons, hepatologists, nephrologists, anesthetists, and other specialists.
• Perform and supervise invasive monitoring procedures according to clinical privileges.
• Manage mechanical ventilation and advanced respiratory support.
• Provide renal replacement therapy for critically ill patients when clinically indicated.
• Direct hemodynamic monitoring and cardiovascular support.
• Recognize and manage acute deterioration and complications affecting transplant patients.
• Coordinate organ-support strategies according to each patient’s condition.
• Provide consultant-level critical care consultations across relevant clinical areas.
• Participate in the departmental on-call service.
• Ensure clinical practice follows DHA requirements and international critical care standards.
• Contribute to clinical research and transplant-related quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in patient-safety programs and evidence-based ICU practice.
• Support education, supervision, and training of junior medical staff.
• Contribute to continuing professional development and clinical knowledge sharing.
