Job description
JOB PURPOSE

Translate written material from English to Arabic and vice versa. Perform a translation that conveys the core meaning of source texts as accurately as possible.

Help to support the symbiotic relationship between ADNOC Gas and its shareholders by underscoring the importance of delivering value, maintaining strong corporate governance, and meeting financial expectations. Help to reflect the mutual commitment to growth and prosperity – inside the company.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Translation
  • Translate English version documents to Arabic Version and vice versa keeping the same meaning of the source text in the translated documents and obtain consensus with the concerned parties.

  • Select and apply the closest equivalents for terminology and words used using specialist references to produce the most accurate translation possible.

  • Research and coordinate to obtain the commercial, financial, technical and scientific phraseology used in Oil and Gas industry to find the correct translation.

  • Consult with experts from technical, financial, marketing, project and other teams to ensure clarification on source documents to be translated and to retain and develop specialist knowledge on the areas of translation.

  • Proofread and edit final translated versions to provide a grammatical, well‑expressed final version of the translated text as a word‑processed document.

Supervision
  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.

  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective functional objectives.

Budgets
  • Provide input for preparation of the Section / Team / Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver functional objectives.

  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
  • Implement approved Section / Team / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.

  • Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.

Performance Management
  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section / Team / Department in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.

  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Reports
  • Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

  • Fostering customer & commercial mindset: promote and foster business decisions that drive quality, innovation, and service by aligning financial decisions with the goal of delighting and retaining customers, ultimately leading to sustainable success.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Translation (English to Arabic and Arabic to English), or equivalent.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
  • 6 years of relevant experience in translation of English to Arabic and vice versa within a large industrial organization, preferably within the Oil and Gas industry.

  • Skilled in translation methodology to ensure accurate completion of the translated documents.

  • Excellent knowledge of Oil and Gas and financial terminology.
