Wood is recruiting an experienced Telecom Engineer for its Engineering team within the Oil, Gas & New Energies business in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role will be based full‑time at the Engineering Center.

Responsibilities
- Engineering Design, Conceptual, FEED and detail Engineering experience
- Proposal Estimation (manhours, deliverable list, costing estimation for telecom systems proposals)
- Support interfacing between telecom systems and key vendors (including Digital System Integrator) and other EPC contractors to ensure quality and execution objectives are met
- Ensure telecom engineering activities are conducted in accordance with project specifications and approved variations, if any
- Co‑ordinate with other disciplines and review other discipline deliverables
- Carry out onshore and offshore site surveys as required
- Attend interface meetings with clients and vendors to progress design scope requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Telecom Engineering or Electronics and Communications Engineering
- Experience working with multi‑national and multi‑cultural project teams is strongly preferred
- Competent to carry out the Design activity in the Design‑Check‑Approve‑Authorize cycle, and to check the technical deliverables of designers
- General knowledge of other related disciplines
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks
- Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast‑paced multi‑disciplinary team environment
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Good oral and written English skills; able to produce fluent documents, reports, and technical notes
- Minimum +5 years’ experience working in telecoms within large Oil & Gas facilities, with broad knowledge of engineering execution (design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, onshore and offshore facilities design, construction and operations)
