Job summary

Flowdesk, a cloud-native crypto market-making firm, is seeking an experienced IT security engineer to own and secure our IT estate across engineering, trading, and operations.

You will configure core platforms (Okta, Jamf, Google Workspace, Cloudflare), manage vendor relationships, run autonomous projects, and participate in on-call rotations while supporting a fast-paced, English-only international environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in IT engineering or similar role in SaaS-heavy, regulated environments.
• Experience managing vendor relationships, procurement, renewal, and negotiation.
• Able to work autonomously on projects with minimal senior management input.
• Experience in financial services or crypto / digital assets.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain IT systems across the organisation, using core platforms (Okta, Jamf, Google Workspace, Cloudflare) as part of the secure engineering team.
• Source and evaluate new tooling, run vendor assessments, manage procurement, and bring in business needs.
• Own the lifecycle of existing vendor contracts - renewal dates, terms, and costs updated, renegotiation opportunities flagged.
• Act as the main point of contact for vendor accounts and contracts.
• Collaborate with IT Operations to translate operational needs into configurations and tooling decisions.
• Run own projects with autonomy and report to senior management.
• Participate in IT on-call rota and provide support to IT Operations as needed.

Role Description

We are a cloud-native crypto market-making firm operating across regulated jurisdictions. Our Secure Engineering team designs, builds, and owns the platforms and configuration that the wider IT estate runs on, security-first. It is a small team - what you build, the rest of IT operates.

• Configure and maintain IT systems across the organisation, working within the team's core platforms (Okta, Jamf, Google Workspace, Cloudflare) as part of the secure engineering team
• Source and evaluate new tooling - run vendor assessments, manage procurement, and bring in what the business needs
• Own the lifecycle of existing vendor contracts - renewal dates, terms, and costs kept current, and renegotiation opportunities flagged before they're missed
• Act as the main point of contact for vendor account and contract matters
• Work with IT Operations to turn their operational needs into system configuration and tooling decisions
• Run your own projects with a good degree of autonomy, keeping senior management informed and looping them in where their input adds value
• Take part in an IT on-call rota
• Provide support to IT Operations as needed

Requirements

Must Have

• 7+ years experience in IT engineering or a similar technical role, ideally in SaaS-heavy, regulated environments
• Working knowledge of modern IT stacks in regulated environments, particularly SaaS, identity, and endpoint platforms
• Experience managing vendor relationships and contracts - evaluation, procurement, renewal, and negotiation
• Able to work autonomously and see projects through with minimal senior management input, while remaining collaborative with the wider team
• Comfortable in a small, high-ownership team
• Experience in financial services or crypto / digital assets
• Familiarity with Okta, Jamf, Google Workspace, or Cloudflare Zero Trust
• Experience with ITSM / change tooling (JSM or similar)
