Job summary

DP World in Dubai is seeking a skilled welder/fabricator to carry out fabrication works using technical drawings for equipment maintenance, including spare parts and underground high voltage electrical joint boxes.

The role involves structural repairs and modifications of lifting equipment such as container cranes, mobile cranes, and RTGs, with a strong emphasis on safety and adherence to DP World standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fabrication works using technical drawings for equipment maintenance.
• Perform structural repairs and modifications on lifting equipment (container cranes, mobile cranes, RTGs) as required.
• Ensure welding methods comply with DP World standards, safety procedures and create a safe work environment.
• Select correct welding method and pre-heating procedures for each job accurately.
• Ensure working platforms are available prior to working on cranes for safety.
• Complete assigned work on time to avoid delays in operations.
• Keep up-to-date with new welding techniques and equipment to improve existing materials and methods.
• Provide guidance to Associate Technicians to maintain quality across the organization.

• To carry out fabrication works namely manufacturers spare parts, underground high voltage electrical joint boxes and workshop tools by using technical drawings for equipment maintenance.
• To carry out structural repairs and modifications of items of lifting equipment i.e. Container and Mobile Cranes, RTGs for operational requirements.
• To ensure welding methods are in compliance with DP World Standards, Safety and Procedures thereby creating a safe work environment.
• To select the correct welding method and pre-heating procedures required for each individual job in an accurate and effective manner.
• To ensure working platforms are available prior to working on equipments like cranes for safety purposes.
• To complete assigned work on time to avoid delays in operations
• To keep abreast with new welding techniques and new equipment to seek improvements in existing materials and techniques.
• To provide guidance to Associate Technicians as and when required to maintain quality of work across the organization.
