Job summary

ADNOC Group in Abu Dhabi seeks a skilled Instrument & Control Maintenance technician to perform preventive, corrective, and troubleshooting maintenance of plant instrumentation. You will work closely with operations to ensure reliability of process control equipment.

The role requires a technical diploma and 4 years of oil and gas experience; adherence to SOPs and safety standards is essential for successful execution.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in a relevant field.
• Minimum 4 years of oil and gas industry experience.
• Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration of process instruments.
• Familiarity with SOPs and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and preventive maintenance, repair and testing of instrumentation.
• Participate in plant shutdown activities and ensure timely completion of job activities.
• Verify completed maintenance and document activities as required.
• Inspect for developing problems and report them promptly.
• Troubleshoot, calibrate and test control instruments and relay logic.
• Perform maintenance during scheduled or unscheduled shutdowns to ensure availability of equipment.
• Assist in plant modifications and update drawings per change requests.
• Support upgrades and retrofitting of instruments as needed.

Job description

Job Purpose

Perform preventive, corrective and troubleshooting maintenance, and testing of all Plant Instrument Process Monitoring, Control Protective equipment with applicable procedures and guidelines.

Job Specific Accountabilities

Instrument & Control Maintenance

• Carry out routine and preventive maintenance work, repair and testing of equipment in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and standards to fulfil the requirements of the job request or work order.
• Carry out preventive maintenance activities maintenance and participate in the assigned plant shutdown activities and ensure timely completion of job activities.
• Verify completed maintenance activities to ensure that the job is performed as per requirement and complete the maintenance activity sheet
• Carry out inspection and exercise vigilance to identify any developing problem in the area assigned and report any problems.
• Trouble shoot, repair calibrate and test various types of process control instruments and relay logic, to keep the instrumentation systems as designed.
• Perform preventive and emergency maintenance on all equipment on site as well as during machine scheduled or unscheduled shutdowns to ensure the availability of all equipment in reliable conditions during running and prevent unforeseen trips.
• Perform field and/or system modifications of control elements and/or control loops as per the plant change requests and assist to update all related plant drawings to reflect the actual changes thus enhancing the plant operation in line with the management of change of procedure.
• Assist in upgrading and retrofitting of new control instruments to the existing panels in the field and main control room as and when required for completion of modifications and the PCR in line with standards.

Minimum Qualification

Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field
