Job summary

XAD Technologies seeks a fiber optic specialist with hands-on experience in splicing, termination, and testing to support ISP/OSP GPON/FTTx networks. You will work on telecom civil infrastructure, cable ducts, and Du SFAN project activities, coordinating with senior field staff to ensure end-to-end delivery.

Responsibilities include reading SLD/DD, using test equipment (FI/VFL/OLS/OPM/OTDR), and updating diagrams with the appropriate department. UAE-based role, on-site.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of fiber optic fundamentals and hands-on splicing/termination techniques.
• Detailed knowledge of fiber optic cable types and cabling/jointing for ISP/OSP in GPON/FTTx.
• Hands-on experience with fiber optic test equipment FI, VFL, OLS, OPM and OTDR.
• Understanding telecom civil infrastructure for fixed networks, including cable ducts and JRCs per du standards.
• Familiar with Du SFAN project activities such as Electromechanical (Cable Tray), Active Equipment (AE), Splitter Installation & ATP, Mobile-IIB & CSG.
• Experience with Du SFAN project activities as ISP SOW, ISP-Inspection, ISP Shortfall, OSP SOW.
• Ability to liaise with Sr. Technician/Field Engineer/Site Supervisor for project execution and documentation.
• Ability to read SLD, DD, and network diagrams and update changes with the concerned department.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end execution of assigned activity from access permission to completion and documentation.
• Coordinate with project team to ensure alignment with SOW and client SOPs.
• Record site photos and maintain records for traceability.
• Update network diagrams and SLDs as required in collaboration with relevant departments.

Job description

In-depth knowledge of fiber optic fundamentals, and fiber optic basics with hands-on experience in splicing & termination techniques (FTB, IDF & various types of FPP)

Details knowledge of different types in fiber optic cables, with cabling & jointing techniques for ISP/OSP infrastructure in GPON/FTTx network environment

Hands-on experience of fiber optic test equipment Fiber Identifier (FI), Visual Fault Locator (VFL), Optical Light Source (OLS), Optical Power Meter (OPM) & OTDR etc.

Complete understanding of Telecom Civil Infrastructure for Fixed Network with specifications of cable ducts & different types of JRCs according to du telecom standards

Must be familiar of Du SFAN Project Activities such as Electromechanical (Cable Tray), Active Equipment (AE), Splitter Installation & ATP, Mobile-IIB & CSG etc.

Must have experience of the Du SFAN Project Activities as ISP SOW (FNE-VC, FES-SO), ISP-Inspection (Rollout & Taawun), ISP Shortfall (In-Zone & Consumer SF) & OSP SOW (Rollout, Taawun & Uplinks/Tapping)

To liaise with Sr. Technician/Field Engineer/Site Supervisor/Coordinator/Team Leads for project execution in accordance with SOW & client SOP/guidelines in order to achieve project objectives & goals

Responsible for assigned activity end-to-end execution/implementation from access permission, survey till completion, site photos for documentation & record keeping

Ability to read & interpret SLD, DD, and network diagrams & update necessary changes with the concerned department

Knowledge of basic to advanced level tools & their appropriate usage as per requirements on assigned tasks
