About Our Client

Our client is a key player in the marine transportation sector known for delivering premium shipping solutions across global trade routes. Their experienced crew, advanced fleet, and strong operational systems ensure seamless movement of cargo every time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise and coordinate closely with third party technical and commercial management teams to ensure smooth day to day vessel operations
  • Supervise and monitor the performance of outsourced teams to ensure all maintenance, repair and operational activities are carried out efficiently and to a high standard
  • Oversee the performance and safety of the vessels' engines, electrical systems, fuel systems and auxiliary machinery
  • Collaborate with technical managers to ensure the timely and effective resolution of any technical issues
  • Ensure that all systems operate within established performance standards and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure that the vessels meet all relevant regulatory and classification society requirements including safety, environmental and operational standards
  • Ensure compliance with international maritime laws, conventions and environmental regulations (e.g. SOLAS, MARPOL)
  • Coordinate and conduct periodic inspections, audits and surveys on board to ensure the vessels comply with regulatory standards and company policies
  • Ensure that any deficiencies identified during inspections are addressed promptly and effectively
  • Efficiently undertake and manage any projects assigned by senior management ensuring timely and high quality completion
  • Coordinate with external service providers and contractors for the execution of projects and repairs
  • Report all operational issues, risks or technical concerns promptly to senior management and the General Manager
  • Provide detailed reports on vessel performance, maintenance activities and compliance status
  • Ensure that the vessels are operated in compliance with safety protocols and environmental standards
  • Coordinate with third party management to ensure all safety drills, training sessions and equipment inspections are carried out regularly
  • Assist in managing and controlling operational budgets for technical and maintenance activities
  • Work with third party managers to monitor and optimize maintenance costs and resource allocation
  • Ensure that all operational expenses (OPEX) remain within budget and report any irregular costs immediately to senior management
  • Explore opportunities to expand the business and share them with management for further consideration and action
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering
  • 4–6 years of experience as a Superintendent in the UAE
  • Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills
