Job summary

faham is seeking a self-motivated draftsman to join a multidisciplinary engineering team in Dubai. You will work at an adjustable table and computer terminal, collaborating with architects and engineers to produce technical drawings using CADD systems and AUTOCAD.

The role requires a B.S. in engineering or architecture (or technical college equivalent) and at least 4 years of CADD/AUTOCAD experience; Rhino knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering or architecture (or technical college equivalent).
• 4+ years of experience in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) & AUTOCAD.
• Knowledge of Rhino preferred.
• Ability to draw manually favorable, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Following specifications and calculations to create technical drawings.
• Preparing rough sketches and detailed work with CADD systems.
• Performing calculations for materials and weight limitations.
• Communicating with architects and engineers and incorporating knowledge into drawings.
• Reviewing and redrafting with the engineering team to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure final designs comply with building regulations.
• Identify and communicate potential design problems to the team.
• Prepare POs, Cutting Lists and orders for the factory.
• Coordinate with inventory for material availability and allocation.
• Coordinate with scheduler and share POs & CL with the factory.
• Monitor the schedule and cross-check all documents daily.
• Organize shipment schedules from the factory.

Job description

We are looking for a self-motivated draftsman who can work alongside a few specialists at our company. The draftsman will form part of a multidisciplinary engineering team and should be comfortable working at an adjustable table as well as a computer terminal. You will usually work at our offices but will at times need to fulfil travel requirements and work on‑site. To be successful as a draftsman, you should stay up to date with new drafting software and advancements. An exceptional draftsman will demonstrate impeccable attention to detail and have sound knowledge of the discipline they draft for.

Key Responsibilities

• Following specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings.
• Preparing both rough sketches and detailed work with CADD systems.
• Performing calculations for materials and weight limitations.
• Communicating with architects and engineers, and incorporating knowledge gained into drawings.
• Preparing, reviewing and redrafting alongside the engineering team.
• Ensuring final designs are compliant with building regulations.
• Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team.
• Due diligence checkup and linking the documents from the different departments before preparing the job card.
• Preparing the PO, Cutting List and other orders from our general factory.
• Coordinate with the inventory to check the material availability in GS, then allocating the materials for a specific project.
• Coordinating with the scheduler.
• Sharing the PO & CL with the factory.
• Monitoring the schedule and cross checking all the documents on a daily basis.
• Organize a schedule of every shipment from our general factory.

Experience

• Bachelor of Science in engineering or architecture.
• Degree from a technical college also acceptable.
• 4+ years of experience in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) & AUTOCAD
• Knowledge of Rhino is preferred.
• Ability to draw manually favorable, but not essential.
