Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Technical Coordinator - Electrical to support planning, coordination, and execution of electrical engineering activities across power generation, transmission, distribution, and industrial projects.

You will review drawings, coordinate with consultants and vendors, track schedules, and ensure safety and quality compliance. The role requires strong design and project coordination skills and travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering or project coordination within the power, energy, utility, or EPC sector.
• Strong knowledge of power systems, substations, switchgear, transformers, and electrical distribution networks.
• Experience in power generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, or industrial power projects.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and local regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in electrical design and engineering software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, EPLAN, or equivalent tools.
• Strong understanding of testing, commissioning, and maintenance practices for electrical systems.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical engineering activities across power projects from design through commissioning.
• Review and monitor electrical drawings, SLDs, load calculations, and technical specifications.
• Liaise with engineering consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
• Track project schedules and support timely resolution of technical issues affecting project execution.
• Coordinate procurement for electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, cables, protection systems.
• Monitor installation, testing, and commissioning activities for compliance with specifications and standards.
• Facilitate technical discussions, design reviews, and project coordination meetings.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
• Review submittals, method statements, inspection reports, and vendor documentation.
• Support project teams in preparing progress reports, risk assessments, and updates.
• Coordinate with QA/QC to ensure quality during execution.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving electrical system issues during construction and operation.
• Maintain project documentation and accurate record keeping.

Your role
